To Start a Controversy

It is widely believed that prostitution, and by extension others who work within the sex industry are immoral. However, I can hardly see how that can possibly be immoral. After all, a construction worker, for example, offer's his body's functions to his employer, so that he can get a paycheck. Similarly, a prostitute does the same.

The say that there is a difference, that sex organs cannot be rented out even with consent, is to make an unfounded assertion. That being said, there are few arguments that can truly be brought against prostitution.

Some may assert that sex is a special, unique activity, and that it ought to be restricted between two individuals—a fanatical claim easily misinterpreted as 'morality'. There has been little throughout history that has been mroe fraudulent and deceitful than these claims of monogamy being equal to morality.

There are some who claim that prostitution tempts men (and women), and therefore ought to be banned, but this claim is rather absurd. Should we ban any industry if its products tempt individuals into buying them? In fact, if an industry produced a good product that sold well in stores, or in fact sold at all, then that product had tempted people, and therefore equally ought to be banned as prostitution.

TL;DR: I cannot even begin to express my deepest disappointment in humanity's future.
